targeted probe users: been in singapore for less than 3 years.

What we want them to do?

Window shopping in Best denki at Plaza Singapura outlet.

While they are window shopping there, they have to list out the followings:

1. Products that they have a liking to, and is affordable for them
2. Products that are too expensive
3. Products that are cheap , and is a good buy

Through the probe package result, we found out that:

- foreigners have already adapt to our standard of living.

- freshers one are still adapting to our standard of living.

- As students does not have a source of income, they depend on their parents for income. so to them, our standard of living is quite high.

Also, after speaking to them, they have given us the following feedback:

- a number of them mentioned that singapore’s travelling cost is rather high.

- foreigners that come from poorer countries or do not have a high amount of income in their home town find it tough to cope in the monetary aspects.

Visit to Singapore Design Festival 2009 at City Hall.

My favourite exhibition!

- Beyond Typography – Singapore Pangram

The photo speaks for the reason why i like this exhibition.

Typography is commonly seen on papers and digital images.

And we always restrict ourself to fonts from the computer and fonts that can be found on the internet.

However this exhibition uses things around us (and it has nothing to do with typography) and the creativity to present the words. We always go near to the material we are reading. But this unique type of “font” make us step back so that you can understand what it is trying to say. (you can’t see anything if u stand near)

Whats more, they used Singlish, gives me a very “Singapore” feel :D

- Who are the shoppers?

Family, Couples, friends in groups, house wife doing daily shopping (some are with maid)

- What do they buy?

Mainly groceries and household items. Mostly in bulk.

- How do the shop?

-> Do they come with a shopping list?

Mostly of them do not prepare a shopping list. They try to remember what they need instead.

-> Do they bring their own shopping bags?

Rarely. Mostly of them bring their own mini trolleys or depend on the NTUC plastic bags to contain their items.

-> How do they purchase bulky items?

For things like pots/pans/mini fan that can be fit into the trolley, they will do it manually. For bigger items, they will ask the nearby NTUC worker for assistance.

-> How do they make payment?

Finding the shortest queue, mainly paying by ATM cards. The others used cash or credit cards.

-> How do they find the items they want?

They will walk around to search for them, check the directory or ask around if they really can’t find it.

-> Who uses the express lane?

People with less than 10 items and mostly paying by cash.

What do you desire?

More:
